This recipe is inspired by one of Jasmine’s favorite restaurants that sadly closed. I wanted a steak that was full of flavor, quick to make, and easy on the wallet—and this one delivers every time.

Ingredients

* 1½–2 lbs skirt steak

* Garlic powder

* Onion powder

* Thyme

* Cilantro

* Kinder’s Prime Steak Seasoning

* Black pepper

* Salt (to taste)

* Avocado oil

* 2 tbsp butter

Instructions

1. Make the dry rub:

   In a bowl, mix garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, cilantro, Kinder’s Prime Steak seasoning, black pepper, and salt.

2. Season the steak:

   Drizzle avocado oil over the skirt steak and rub the seasoning mixture evenly on both sides.

   Let marinate for at least 30 minutes (longer if you have time—more flavor!).

3. Heat the pan:

   Heat a cast-iron skillet over medium heat. Add butter and a little avocado oil.

   Let it heat until the butter is fully melted and the pan starts to smoke.

4. Cook the steak:

   Place the steak in the pan and cook for about 5 minutes, then flip and cook another 3–5 minutes.

   Skirt steak is thin, so it cooks quickly—don’t overdo it.

5. Rest & serve:

   Let the steak rest for a few minutes before slicing against the grain.

Serving Suggestions

* Corn on the cob

* Roasted potatoes

* Simple rice and beans

* Grilled vegetables or a light salad

Drink Pairing

This steak pairs beautifully with a Cabernet Sauvignon
